Can you trust your test participant’s responses?

The response indicator in the test portal provides you, as the person responsible for administering the test, with valuable insight into how a test has been completed. It highlights data in yellow when a test participant’s responses deviate significantly from the average.

The purpose of the response indicator is therefore not to assess whether your test participant is telling the truth or giving false answers, but to help you identify patterns in their responses that may add nuance to the interpretation of the test results and provide a basis for reflection and dialogue.

The response indicator consists of four categories:

Type affiliation

This indicator alerts you if your test participant may have a primary affiliation with a type other than the one identified. It highlights potential complexity in the interpretation or a broader range of personality patterns within the test participant’s profile.

Response time

This indicator tells you how long your test participant took to complete the test. It highlights whether the test was completed at a considered pace, allowing time for reflection, or at a faster or slower pace than average.

Test variance

This indicator shows the degree of variance between the highest and lowest scores in the profile graph. It highlights whether the test participant has differentiated their responses across the questions.

Same answer category

This indicator alerts you if your test participant tends to select the same response category. It highlights whether they have engaged with the response options in a nuanced way.

The response indicator therefore gives you, as the person responsible for administering the test, a more nuanced picture of response patterns and a stronger basis for exploring the factors that may underlie them – for example, insecurity, a lack of reflection, or a desire to present oneself in a particular way.

With this insight, you can ask more informed questions, refine your interpretation of the test results and foster a more valuable dialogue with your test participant.
